A stable home, and the support to keep it.

Sahan Society Centre provides supported living housing for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. We manage the home. A registered care provider of your choice delivers the care. Our community programmes help people settle in, make connections and stay.

What we do

Housing

We find, set up and manage homes. Ordinary houses and flats on ordinary streets. We look after the tenancy, the repairs and the housing benefit.

Support to live independently

We help residents with the practical side of running a home: bills, tenancy, routines, and getting to know the area.

Community and mental health

We have run mental health support, classes and workshops since 2006. Every resident can use them.

How a referral works

1

Get in touch

Tell us about the person, their support needs and when they need a home.

2

We talk it through

We check what we have available or can set up, and agree how housing and care will be arranged.

3

Visit and agree

The person, their family and the care provider see the home. We put the arrangement in writing.

4

Move in

We set up the tenancy and housing benefit, then stay in regular contact with the care provider and the commissioner.

Why housing and community belong together

Most housing providers hand over the keys and look after the building. We do that too. We also give people somewhere to go during the day, people who know their name, and support with their mental health when they need it.

That is what keeps a placement stable. A person who is settled, connected and supported stays in their home.

Where we work

Our homes are currently in West London. We are growing our portfolio and actively looking for properties across London and the South East. We work with several local authorities and take referrals from any area where we can find or set up the right home. If you need housing in an area we are not in yet, talk to us.
